Our U13s had a hard fought win against Skibereen today. We started the game on the front foot and Martim Ferreira broke from near the half way line, brushing off multiple tackle attempts to touch down under the posts. Kayden Barry quickly converted in what would be the first of four conversions on the day. We went further ahead after a stolen line out on the skib 10. Some great passing ensued and Fionn Reddy went over after a great final pass from Oisín Kavanagh.

The game settled and skib grew into the game. They got their first try from a line out after a decent spell of defending from Old Christians. A short lineout pass, and the Skib no 5, broke through and touched down.

Onto the second half and the Skib no 5 got his second try about 5 mins after the restart after a good run on the outside. Old Christians quickly got back into the game and we worked our way down to their 22 and after some great carries and rucking Oisin Kavanagh went over to increase Old Christians advantage.

After some great defensive work from the forwards, Martim again broke through and made it to the Skib 5 before offloading to Fionn who duly touched down. Kayden dispatched the conversion to make it 28 - 10. We didn't leave our foot off the gas, and could have had another couple of tries with better decision making, but the lads will learn from that. All credit to Skib as they battled on and their no 5 went over for his 3rd right on full-time. Final score 28 - 15.

Some fantastic performances throughout the team, but for his overall impact on the game, our man of the match goes to Martim Ferreira.
